Houston, we have a problem!

Image
We thought it might be nice to share some more photos of our beautiful Kingwood, Texas. Kingwood is a suburb of Houston, but we think it is one of the most beautiful suburbs. Sometimes we leave Kingwood to go to Costco or to a mall, and it feels like being in any big city. But this is what we see when we drive back into Kingwood.                                                                                             We are greeted by beautiful fountains!                                           The sign says - "Kingwood, The Livable Forrest" This view is right before you turn into our apartment complex. On Friday evening we had a pot luck...

Welcome to Houston!

We left St. George on Friday, September 13 and went as far as Page, Arizona that evening. The next morning we saw our friends Paul and Janet Doxey at breakfast - they were in town for a boat show! We drove to Albuquerque that evening and can't believe we didn't get one photo with Melanie and Kurt Johnson, our niece and their cute family! It was so nice to rest and enjoy their food and sweet guitar music. We also got to attend church with them and loved their ward. Kurt is the bishop there and we could tell they are loved!                                                                                        Lots of rattlesnakes - we knew we had made it to Texas! We had some delicious food in Cross Plains Texas and enjoyed a nice scri...

We were called to serve in the Texas Houston East mission - John as an Area Medical Advisor (over 10 missions) and I was called as a Nurse Specialist and will be his assistant. This blog will be a fun way for us to document our experiences and share them with our friends and family.  We were set apart on Sunday, September 1st and it was so special to have our family there. The spirit was strong there and there weren't many dry eyes. Afterwards we went to Shauna and Darryl's home for dinner and then said "goodbye for now!" and headed to Provo. Monday Morning we entered the MTC  where we had a great week! There is such a great spirit there - it felt like we were living in the temple for a few days. The highlight was singing in the choir with 1200 young missionaries! We sang "Joseph Smith's First Prayer" and then Elder Martino spoke.  It was so fun to be at the MTC and in Salt Lake with John's cousin Tom Davis - Also serving as a...
