Family Time!

Last week we got to have our first visit of family from home when Lauren, Cody, Asher, Liam and Luna came to see us! They flew to Austin and we met them there so that we could stay at the amazing Law Law Land ranch in Salado, Texas, with Scott and Jessica and family. Salado is about an hour north east of Austin.  It was the first time on a plane for Asher, Liam and Luna so that made it extra exciting for them! On our first day together we drove to Waco to the Magnolia Market! Lauren and Cody and I had seen all of the seasons of Fixer Upper and John has seen a few, so it was fun to be here in person. It was a cold and rainy day but there were still a lot of crazy tourists like us. They have done a beautiful job renovating this property. I was worried about trying to get in to the restaurant, but then realized that there are food trucks all around, so that is were we ate lunch! Mission Nurse for a Weekend

When we received our mission calls, John was called as the Area Medical Advisor for the southern half of the North America Southwest Area, and I was called as a Mission Nurse Specialist for the Texas Houston East Mission. As we were preparing for our mission, we found out that there was a mix up and our mission already had a nurse specialist. I was kind of disappointed, but after we got here and I saw the reality of what John's calling involved and what the mission nurse specialist does, I soon realized that this mix up was a blessing! I have been able to fill in as a nurse in the Houston Mission, and I have taken call for our mission nurse a couple of times when they have been out of town. This weekend was one of those times and it was a busy one!  We had a missionary get very sick with a stomach virus and they admitted him to the hospital that is here in Kingwood.
